Today the government announced a £96 million investment in cutting-edge research and technology for our NHS, helping to deliver on the priority to cut waiting lists.
- Cutting waiting lists is one of the Prime Minister’s five priorities, and it is essential to takke the right decisions now for the long-term future of the country.
- That is why I was pleased to learn that the government has announced today a £96 million investment in cutting-edge research and technology for the NHS, aiming to drive new scientific discoveries which will help to improve the prevention and treatment of diseases, and pay for new equipment such as imaging devices, ultrasound machines, and mobile research vehicles.
- This plan should help to cut waiting lists for patients across the country and is one of a series of announcements the government is planning to make this week to help secure the future of the NHS – including training more nurses, more doctors, and delivering shorter waiting times.
